FAQ
Answer
We are a group of local people who formed the Friends of Meersbrook Hall due to concerns Sheffield City Council want to sell it to a private developer. There is a small management committee, and the wider membership. The committee are all volunteers and are not paid for their work. There is a more detailed background to the group here.
Anyone can become a member and it is free. The majority of our members are local to the area, but we welcome members from Sheffield and beyond. Our plans for the Hall included developing facilities which will draw people from throughout Sheffield and the region.
- Sign up as a member. The council will only listen to us if we can demonstrate public support. We can show this through our membership. (‘Likes’ on a Facebook page aren’t enough!)
- Like our Facebook page. This will keep you up to date with meetings, fundraising events, project progress etc.
- Make a donation and/or attend fundraising events. All our funds go towards the campaign to prevent the sale of the Hall.
- Get in touch if you have any memories of visiting the Ruskin Museum when it was housed in the Hall.
